Family and Children Together Safely (FACTS):

This program is less intensive than IFPS or FRS so the FACTS Specialist can work with up to four (4) families at a time for up to thirteen (13) weeks giving each family three (3) to eight (8) hours per week of services.  FACTS gives the added advantage of working with a family whose situation is not at the point that the children are at imminent risk of being removed but if the concerns are not resolved could develop into a crisis where the children would need to be removed.  FACTS assist the family in the permanency of the child in the home of the biological parent(s), adoptive parents or relative placement.  As with IFPS and FRS, the FACTS In-Home Specialist works with families in their homes on a flexible schedule and are available to the families they serve twenty-four (24) hours per day seven (7) days per week.  FACTS may also be used for reunification of the child(ren) for families where the child has been removed more than the twenty-two (22) month criteria that limits the FRS. Services provided to the families include, but are not limited to; modeling desired behavior; parenting education and skills; child development training; advocacy with courts, schools and other service agencies; communication skills building; home maintenance skills; linkage with other community resources, facilities and transportation.

Referral Process:

Only DCBS/P&P may refer families to this program. All referrals must be approved by the Referral and Selection person in the DCBS District office in your area. The original referral must be given to the IFPS worker at the time the case is opened.

*TANF cases must meet TANF eligibility criteria.
