"Cheat" Sheet


FAMILY PRESERVATION "CHEAT" SHEET

Intensive Family Preservation Services (IFPS): Child MUST be at imminent risk of removal.

Length: 4 weeks

Intensity: 8-10 hours per week

Availability: 24/7 Crisis

Case Load: 2 families at a time

Exceptions: SEE BELOW


Family Reunification Services (FRS): Services provided to a family where the child is placed in a Foster Family Home OR a Child Care Institution but only during the 15 month period that begins on the date the child is considered to have entered foster care. The child is expected to return within 4 weeks or 28 days.

Length: 13 weeks

Intensity: 3-8 hours per week

Availability: 24/7 Crisis

Case Load: 4 families at a time

Exceptions: SEE BELOW


Families and Children Together Safely (FACTS): Designed to help families (including adoptive and extended families) at risk of out of home placement or in a crisis providing less intensive services than IFPS to maintain the child safely in the home. FACTS can also provide Reunification services when a child has been in placement longer than 15 of the last 22 months or who is not expected to be returned home within 15 months of entering out of home care.

Length: 13 weeks

Intensity: 3-8 hours per week

Availability: 24/7 Crisis

Case Load: 4 families at a time

Exceptions: SEE BELOW


EXCEPTIONS for IFPS, FRS and FACTS including TANF IFPS, FRS & FACTS related services:

1. Families in which children are at risk of recurring sexual abuse perpetrated by a member of their immediate household who remains in close proximity to the victim or whose continued safety from recurring abuse cannot be reasonably assured.

2. Families in which one or more adults in the immediate household is drug or alcohol dependent and not in active treatment for such dependency.

3. If the family does not meet the weekly meeting requirements for the services, the service will be closed due to non-compliance!



Diversion: Services provided to children who are at risk of removal from their biological family, relatives or finalized adoptive families and to children who are currently in Out Of Home Care (OOHC) and have a plan to return to their families within 4-6 weeks

Specifics: Divert children ages 10-17 years from OOHC;

Reunify children who are currently in OOHC, with their family

Length: 3-4 months

Intensity: 8-10 hrs per week initially with intensity lessening to 3-5 hrs per week per the

family’s needs

Availability: 24/7 Crisis

Case Load: 4-6 families at a time


Community Collaboration for Children (CCC) In-Home Based Services (IHB):

Specifics: Child has no risk of removal

Length: 6 weeks

Intensity: 3-5 hrs per week

Availability: Flexible but no on call

Case Load: 4-6 families at a time
