Our mission is to assist Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers and families to prevent, detect and report health care fraud, errors and abuse.

The role of the Senior Medicare Patrol program is:

*Disseminate SMP fraud prevention and identification information through the media, outreach campaigns and community events.

*Assist beneficiaries in resolving potential fraud-related inquiries and issues regarding Medicare, Medicaid and other health care issues.

*Make referrals of suspected cases of fraud, waste and abuse.

The SMP program provides an opportunity for seniors to step up and make an impact on the fight against fraud.  The dedicated corps of SMP volunteers does make a difference and will help save billions of dollars due to its volunteer services.

SMP projects recruit and train retired professionals and other senior citizens.  These volunteers work in their communities, senior centers and elsewhere to educate Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, family members and caregivers to actively protect themselves against fraudulent, wasteful and abusive health care practices.
We are there for you if you don't know the answer.  Call us and help us help others like you.

For assistance with you Medicare or Medicaid questions or information on how you can be one of our valuable volunteers, please contact your RSVP Coordinator or contact Edith Lewis, SMP Coordinator.  Edith is located in the PACS central office at 1100 liberty Street, Hopkinsville, KY.  You may reach her at (270) 886-6341 or 1-800-264-0643 or by e-mail at
